- Uses : – It is grown commercially as an ornamental and shade tree due to its showy flowers and wide spreading crown. The tree produces a reddish-brown wood regarded as similar to teak in characteristics, and is used in medium-heavy construction and for tools and handicrafts.
- Seeds should be sown in the shade, germination takes 15 – 25 days .After germination the small seedlings can be pricked out and transferred to container. Seeds can store for at least 2 years in airtight containers at room temperature.
- Uses: Primarily a beautiful ornamental and good shade tree; a specimen tree in gardens or lining boulevards; its valuable reddish timber is used for fine cabinetry, in shipbuilding, exterior applications and construction; plant is used medicinally – seeds are narcotic and leaves are purgative.

None of the seeds germinated

The seed pods are collected too soon, so they are not opening to release the seeds. I cracked the pods open and tried planting the seeds, but not a single one germinated. The seeds are not ready until the pods open, so unfortunately these were all just a waste.

I received a big packet of seeds. But not a single one germinated. We tried all the traditional methods to germinate them and it was no use. There was no particular instruction with the packet either. Total waste of money.
