• With its thin blade like leaves that arch beautifully from the ground, the Lemongrass provides the much needed contrast of shape in your urban jungle. Plant it in the sunniest corner of your living room or bedroom for a constant fresh fragrance and to ward off mosquitoes to a large extent while being an attractive home decor piece. They look excellent in circular pots that contrast with their foliage shape. Planters on tall stands are also great options for lemon grass to trail down.
• Native to Southeast Asian tropical climates, it loves light and humidity. Add it to your windowsills or use it as a part of plant cluster, it will thrive with little care. It makes for excellent windowsill plant with its lush grass like appearance.
• The Lemongrass is excellent for balcony gardens, shaded patios or indoor areas near south or west facing windows with ample indirect sunlight. The plant loves humidity but do not let it sit in soggy soil.
• Lemongrass can be propagated via division. Each leaf fan is attached to bulb like base, simply separate the bulbs and plant it in different pots. At least 5-6 bulbs in a single pot is a safe route to go.
• Lemongrass does not require frequent repotting, repot the plant in spring once the roots are visible over the topsoil (once in two years) in a rich but well-draining soil.
